About the race
Peacock Plod is a running event held at Hockwold Hall, set in private estate grounds. Hockwold Hall is described as a former Royal Residence in a small Breckland village on the border of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The estate is known for landscaped parkland, mature trees, open lawns and a flock of peacocks that roam the gardens.
Participants loop around a measured 5.3 km circuit through estate grounds. Everyone begins together, then participants select how far to go, with options ranging from a short distance up to an ultra distance.
Included for finishers are a medal and cake at the finish line. The event provides water, squash and coke at the aid station, and uses chip timing. The course is marked with arrows. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own drinking vessel. A virtual entry option is offered.
There is a requirement to be out on the last lap before the event cutoff for final completion. Entry fees are listed between £29 and £38 for different distance options and medal types. The atmosphere is described as warm and inclusive. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
