Fields and Forest Ultra-Trail Marathon
Fields and Forest Ultra-Trail Marathon is an entry level 34 mile ultramarathon held on 19 September 2026. The event starts and finishes at The Grumpy Goat Cafe Bar, The Sports Pavilion, Spring Road, Bardwell, Bury St Edmunds, IP31 1AB.
The route passes through West Suffolk countryside and Norfolk woodlands, including part of Thetford Forest at West Harling Woods, before returning across open Suffolk farmland and skies. The course is described as not overly technical and will be waymarked, though participants need to pay attention to their own navigation because the whole route cannot be fully marshalled. The course crosses several major roads.
Entry details include an early bird fee of £48 or £46 for UKA affiliated entries until 30 April 2026, and a standard fee of £52 or £50 for UKA affiliated entries thereafter. Entries are handled online. The field is limited to 150 participants and the minimum age is 20 years. Organisers request that entrants have completed at least a half marathon within the previous year. The event has an overall cut off of 11 hours.
Facilities and support include aid stations supplying refreshments at intervals no greater than 10 km, first aid at the start/finish and along the course, toilets and limited changing at the venue, a baggage area at the start/finish, on the day race number collection at registration, and medals for all finishers.
