The Lucky Horseshoe
The Lucky Horseshoe takes place at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds (IP29 5AX). The event offers multiple distance options on a predominantly out and back course with turnaround points for shorter distances.

The marathon route is an out and back from the campsite and is described as 42.2 km with about 65% road and 35% trail, 337 m of total climb, a high point of 108 m and a low point of 37 m. The route begins on lanes through Denham and Dalham; the middle third runs across the Newmarket gallops and heath, introducing off-road sections.
The 5k, 10k and half marathon have turn points and retrace their steps. All routes use the Gallops Route; the Ultra follows the full marathon out and back and then continues out to the 5k or 10k turn point.
There are aid stations offering drinks and nibbles approximately every 10 km. Race HQ / Base Camp is located at the start and lap point and includes a water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price and a GPX file for the course is available from the course tab.
A bespoke finisher medal is provided, with a lucky dip finisher medal option in some cases. No dogs or buggies are allowed because roads are open to traffic. Headphones are not permitted except bone conductor types. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling.
