Palouse Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon
The event in Moscow, Idaho features both a sprint triathlon and a duathlon at the Hamilton Lowe Aquatic Center and nearby roads and paths on September 12, 2026.
The distances are:
- Triathlon distances: 500 yard swim, 9.3 miles (15K) bike, 3.1 miles (5K) run
- Duathlon distances: 1.5 miles (2.5K) run, 9.3 miles (15K) bike, 3.1 miles (5K) run
The swim takes place in a 25 yard outdoor pool (20 lengths equals 500 yards). The pool will be heated to about 78 to 80 degrees. Wetsuits are not allowed. Lane swimming is used with up to four swimmers per lane and volunteer lap counters. Changing rooms and restrooms are available at the pool.
The bike leg is an out and back paved course on Mountain View, West Twin and Idlers Rest Roads with gentle hills. Roads remain open to traffic; police and volunteers will manage intersections. Cyclists must wear a Snell or ANSI helmet with the chin strap fastened before mounting, obey traffic laws, avoid drafting and cutting corners, and supply their own hydration because there are no aid stations on the bike course.
Transitions restrict running or riding inside the area; athletes must be ready to mount on the street. There are water and restroom stations at the exit of T2, near mile 1 and mile 2 on the run, and at the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
