Palouse Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon : Moscow, ID
The Palouse Sprint Triathlon and accompanying sprint duathlon take place in Moscow, Idaho at the Hamilton-Lowe Aquatics Center. The event is held each fall and the 2026 edition is scheduled for September 12, 2026.
Two event formats are offered:
- Sprint triathlon: 500 yard swim, 15K bike, 5K run
- Sprint duathlon: 2.5K run, 15K bike, 5K run
The triathlon swim uses an outdoor 25 yard pool. The bike course is on paved roads that pass gently sloping wheat fields. Athletes are organized into eight swim heats and seeded by estimated overall finish time, with slower athletes in earlier heats and faster athletes in later heats.
Entry options include individual and team categories, with separate pricing for junior, open, masters, family, and donor team entries. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon; participants must purchase a one day USAT license or provide proof of annual USAT membership.
Proceeds from the event benefit local organizations including the Moscow Chinooks Masters Swim Club, the Moscow Central Lions Club Sight and Hearing Program, the University of Idaho Vandal Cycling Club, and Moscow High School Environmental and International Clubs.
