Fall Flash of the Palouse
The Fall Flash is an annual running event held in Moscow, Idaho, during the autumn season. Participants travel through the Palouse countryside starting from Mountain View Park. The event offers multiple distances to accommodate different preferences and ages:
- 10 km race on a paved and gravel loop with rolling hills.
- 5 km timed fun run on a flat, paved out and back course.
- 1 km kids run on a flat out and back trail.
The 10 km course follows a clockwise loop. It leaves Mountain View Park and proceeds along Mountain View Road to West Twin, Herington, and Moscow Mountain Road before reconnecting with the start. This route includes significant hills on Herington. The 5 km route is a flat and fast course that follows the same initial path as the 10 km with a turnaround located at West Twin Road.
The 10 km event is a competitive timed race with designated categories for men’s and women’s open and master's divisions. While the 5 km distance is also timed, it is organized as a fun run where no official winners are announced. Participants are encouraged to wear colorful running apparel to match the seasonal setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
