Pacific Crest Trail 50 (PCT 50)
The Pacific Crest Trail 50 is a 50 mile out and back trail run in the Cleveland National Forest near east San Diego County held on June 6, 2026. The course follows the Pacific Crest Trail for most of its length and is primarily single track with rocky sections and numerous climbs. Elevation ranges from about 3,000 feet at the start to 6,000 feet in the Laguna Mountains, with roughly 7,500 feet of total elevation gain. The first part of the run contains about 2,500 feet of gain, producing a steep descent on the return.
Aid stations are fully stocked and located at miles 6.4, 13.7, 17.5, 22.7, 27.3, 32.5, 36.3, and 43.6. Crews are permitted access only to Penny Pines aid station; drop bags must be labeled with the runner name and are available at Penny Pines. Per’s Cabin aid station is accessible to crews only by trail or by meeting a runner where the PCT crosses Monument Peak Road. Pacers are allowed beginning from the second pass through Penny Pines or from Per’s Cabin on the return and must complete the remainder of the course with the runner.
Time cutoffs include a 13.5 hour overall limit and intermediate cutoffs at Penny Pines, Per’s Cabin on the return, and Fred Canyon on the return. Parking for the start and finish is near Boulder Oaks Campground; parking at aid station locations may require a National Forest Adventure Pass.
