Cuyamaca 100K
The Cuyamaca 100K is a trail ultramarathon held within Cuyamaca Rancho State Park near Julian, CA, roughly one hour east of San Diego. The race starts and finishes at Camp Cuyamaca off Highway 79 and follows three distinct loops that use different sets of park trails with minimal backtracking.
The course includes mountain and desert terrain and approaches the park high point, Cuyamaca Peak, at 6,500 feet. The final loop travels through the northern section of the park, briefly leaves the park into Anza Borrego, and follows the Pacific Crest Trail with desert views before returning to the meadows and the finish area.
Distances of the three loops:
- First loop 31.5 miles across the western side approaching Cuyamaca Peak at 6500 feet
- Second loop 12.6 miles in the southeast near Oakzanita Peak
- Third loop 18.3 miles through the northern park and along the PCT into desert terrain
The 2026 event serves as a 2027 Western States qualifying race. Volunteer positions are part of the event organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
