100K Trail Race in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park
The Cuyamaca 100k is a 62 mile trail race held in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, located approximately 40 miles east of San Diego. Established in 2012, this endurance run takes participants through a variety of natural environments within both the Cuyamaca Rancho and Anza Borrego Desert State Parks.
The course features a diverse landscape that includes oak woodlands, open meadows, pine forests, and chaparral. Runners navigate trail systems that showcase the scenic terrain of the region. One notable point along the route involves a descent from Cuyamaca Peak.
The event utilizes the facilities of the Cuyamaca Outdoor School as its venue. This school serves as a 6th grade camp program and has supported the race for over a decade. The event also maintains partnerships with organizations focused on public land protection, climate action, and equitable access to nature. Top finishers receive awards for the first three runners.
