Event overview
The Otter Pond Trail Races is an inaugural trail running event in Standish, Maine, on trails just south of Sebago Lake. The event offers a 10k course plus a Dawn to Dusk format and a Kids' Fun Run. The trails are managed by the Portland Water District and use Johnson Field for event operations. A portion of entry fees and optional registration add-ons will be donated to the Bonny Eagle Athletics Department.
Course, timing and logistics
The 10k course follows wide double-track trail and technical single-track with some short, steep climbs. The course will be marked with colorful reflective flagging and signs at key intersections, with wrong-way signs at appropriate locations. Dawn to Dusk participants may run the 10k loop multiple times within the event window provided, a period of about 15 and a half hours. Race timing will be done by hand; bibs must be worn on the front and be visible. Dawn to Dusk runners must check in and out with the timing team at Johnson Field each time they return and each time they leave for another lap. 10k finishers must remain in the finish chute until recorded by a timing volunteer. Parking is planned at Johnson Field with additional parking at Edna Libby Elementary School and shuttle service between the school and the field; entrants are asked not to park on the school grass.
