The Onslow Community Outreach - Moore Buick GMC Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026, at 100 Recreation Lane, Jacksonville, NC 28546. The event includes these race options:
- 5K
- Giblet 1-Miler
- Virtual 5K
Registration opens January 15, 2026. Listed entry fees are $25 for the 5K, $15 for the 1-Miler, and $30 for the Virtual 5K. Packet pickup is available the day before at Onslow Community Outreach, 1210 Hargett St., Jacksonville, and on race day at Jacksonville Commons, 100 Recreation Circle. Virtual participants receive a runner bib and finisher medal mailed by November 20 and may complete their distance anytime during November; results for virtual participation are on the honor system with no proof required. Animals are allowed on course but must be leashed; strollers are permitted. Only registered participants with an official bib receive finisher medals.
Awards and charity
Every registered finisher of the 5K and 1-Miler receives a commemorative finisher medal. 5K age-group winners (male and female) receive a $20 Fleet Feet gift certificate; overall 5K winners (male and female) receive a $100 Fleet Feet gift certificate. All proceeds support the Onslow Christmas Cheer program. The event also organizes a toy drive with a stated goal of collecting 200 new, unwrapped toys, with race-day drop-off at the Onslow Community Outreach information tent.
