13th Annual Beat the Bridge
The Beat the Bridge event takes place in downtown Jacksonville, North Carolina. This annual athletic gathering is part of the JOSC Race Series and is operated by the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission. The course route includes crossing two bridges, highlighting the landscape of the city and its surrounding community.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 10k in-person running race
- 5k in-person running race
- Virtual 10k and Virtual 5k options
- Stroller Child category for children aged five and younger
In-person registration provides participants with a race bag, a bib featuring a timing chip, and access to free event photos. Those who complete their respective distance receive a finisher medal. The event also includes access to a designated refreshments area at the finish line and provides participants with specific restaurant discounts valid during the race weekend.
The event supports a charitable cause, as a portion of the proceeds is directed to Semper Fi & America's Fund. Participants may collect their race materials at designated locations in Jacksonville on the day prior to the event or on the morning of the races at Sturgeon City on Court Street.
