NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 10K
The NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 10K takes place on Governors Island on August 8, 2026. The course is USATF certified and consists of two loops around the island with views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. Ferry rides to and from the island are provided for runners and guests on race morning at no charge.
The Festival Area, a short walk from the ferry terminal, houses bib and shirt pickup, bag check, portable bathrooms, and post-race refreshments. Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24 inches); event staff may provide a clear bag and reserve the right to search bag contents. Water and electrolyte fluids are available on course and at the finish.
Post-race options include water, Gatorade, fruit, pretzels, and a choice of Häagen-Dazs vanilla or chocolate ice cream cup or an icy treat free of dairy, gluten, and nuts. Every participant receives an official race tech shirt; shirts are available for pickup on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Event photography includes one free download plus optional paid photo packages.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter AA through F based on the pace indicated in the runner dashboard. Bibs are available for pickup in the Festival Area on race morning using a unique QR code; members may receive mailed bibs at no cost and non-members may add mailed bib service for an extra fee when registering at least 30 days before the event. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time and to top three in each age group by net time.
The event notes that the course has many turns and is not recommended for handcycle or wheelchair athletes. Standard event policies apply including no refunds or transfers, no strollers or dogs, restrictions on earbuds that hinder awareness, prohibition of confetti cannons, and time limits for course support and official finish times. Organizers offer a Governors Island 10K Challenge where registering for three specified 10Ks results in paying for two and earning a unique finisher pin upon completion of all three.
