NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 10K
The event is a 10K road race on Governors Island composed of two loops on a USATF-certified course. The route offers views of New York Harbor and runs around the island. Course support includes fluid stations and medical coverage.
A Festival Area near the ferry terminal serves as bib and shirt pickup, bag check, and the post-race refreshment zone. Post-race items include water, electrolyte fluids, a bag of pretzels, an apple, and an ice cream or ice pop. Portable bathrooms will be available on site. A tech shirt is the event giveaway and shirts are available for pick up on race day only; sizes are not guaranteed.
Start corrals use a pace-based system with lettered assignments noted on bibs. Bibs are available for pick up on race morning at the Festival Area; runners who are NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs if they register early and provide a U.S. mailing address. Clear bag rules apply for bag check and staff may search bag contents.
Ferries to Governors Island depart from the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street; ferry rides are provided for runners and guests on race morning. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to register due to course turns. Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers and to top three in specified age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
