NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 10K
The NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 10K takes place on Governors Island, offering participants a tour of the island with views of the New York Harbor and the city skyline. The event is a points-based race held during the summer season.
The 10K course consists of two loops around the island and is USATF-certified. Runners are organized into a pace-based corral system, with assignments determined by the performance data in their participant profile. Fluid stations providing water and electrolyte drinks are located along the course and at the finish line. Medical support is also available throughout the event.
Participants have access to a central festival area located a short distance from the ferry terminal. This area serves as the hub for bib and shirt collection, bag storage, and post-race activities. The start and finish lines are situated in close proximity to this festival zone. All finishers receive an official race shirt, and refreshments including pretzels, apples, and ice cream or ice pops are provided after the race.
Transportation is provided via the Governors Island Ferry from the Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan. There is no charge for runners or their guests to use the ferry on the morning of the event. The island is accessible via multiple subway lines, including the 1, 4, 5, J, and R trains, as well as the M15 bus and Citi Bike.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers and the top three in various age categories for male, female, and non-binary divisions. Participants also receive access to free digital race photos following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
