NYCRUNS Manhattan Ice Cream Social 10K : Governors Island
The event is a USATF‑certified 10 km race that loops around Governors Island twice. Ferry rides to and from the island are provided for runners and guests from the Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan, with festival activities located a short walk from the ferry terminal.
The Festival Area houses bib and shirt pickup, bag check, portable bathrooms, and post-race refreshments. Hydration stations with water and electrolyte fluids are available on course and at the finish. Post-race food includes pretzels, an apple, and an ice cream or ice pop option. The race shirt is a tech shirt distributed on race day; sizes are not guaranteed.
NYCRUNS uses a pace based start corral system, with corrals assigned by letter and noted on the bib. Bib pickup requires a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may opt to have their bib mailed at no extra cost, and non-members may add mailed bibs for a fee. Mailed bibs are only available if registration occurs 30 days or more before the event and must be sent to a U.S. address. Shirts are not mailed.
Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non‑binary finishers overall, and to the top three in multiple age groups by net time. Due to the course layout, handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to register. The event enforces standard race policies including no strollers, no dogs, and adherence to course time limits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
