Queens NYC offers a set of road races through Flushing Meadows Corona Park with views of the Unisphere and the Rocket Thrower statue. The main course, called THE ROCKET, loops on long, wide promenades that are mostly shaded by trees. The route is generally flat with two small uphill sections where it crosses an overpass over the Queens Long Island Expressway; three water stations are placed on course.
Distances include:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Race-day logistics include race-day-only bib pickup beginning 30 minutes before each race, a bag check area, and portable toilets at the start. Pre-race announcements provide final instructions. The event uses professional chip timing with live results and per-lap splits posted on the results page. Participants should wear their bib on the front of the torso and cross the start mat within three minutes of the start to remain eligible for awards.
Every finisher receives a tech shirt and a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments include bagels, snacks, and drinks. Awards recognize the top three overall finishers in each distance and top three in each age group. Free personalized race photos and video are posted to participants' pages.
