Nuclear Fit : Brentwood, Essex
Nuclear Fit is an outdoor functional fitness event that combines six 1 km trail runs with a series of workout stations. The format alternates running laps with high-intensity strength tasks to give each competitor a mix of endurance and functional strength work.
Entry options include Individuals, Doubles and Relay categories. Individual and Doubles entries list an approximate duration of two hours and require participants to be aged 16 or over. In Doubles both teammates run together for each 1 km lap and then move through sequential stations, sharing the workload at each station.
Example stations include tyre flips, farmer urn carries, plough pulls, milk churn carries, a duck-and-throw bag sequence, and a squat-and-lift set with counted repetitions. Weight and rep standards vary by category and are applied at each station. Every competitor receives chip timing with split data for each run and workout station. Top finishers receive trophies for first to third places by gender and all finishers receive medals. Spectator access and on-site parking are free.
The event takes place at a Brentwood, Essex site located about 15 minutes from the A12, M25 and M11, and about 15 minutes from Brentwood station or Epping Underground station. The event site includes a central arena with music, stalls, sports massage facilities and on-course photography. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
