About the race
The Spitfire Scramble is a 24 hour multi terrain relay or solo race held at Albyns Farm entrance on South End Road, RM13 7YH. Competitors may enter as solo runners or in teams of two to eight.
Participants complete repeated laps of a 5.75 mile circuit. Teams may have at most one runner on the course at any time, and each runner must complete a full circuit before handing over to a team mate. The format includes overnight running and requires runners to manage lighting and batteries as well as pacing and team changes.
Runners and their supporters may arrive from Friday afternoon to set up camp and familiarise themselves with the course. Camping on site is free. Event facilities include catering, toilets, hot showers, a sports massage service and first aid.
Entry is offered for solo competitors and for teams, with different fees for each category. The event also describes itself as the only event of its kind in the London area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
