The Watermelon 5K Blydenburgh NSRF
The Watermelon 5K is a community road and trail race held at Blydenburgh County Park / Blydenburgh State Park in Hauppauge, New York. The course runs on a mixture of pavement, dirt roads, and hard-packed trails suitable for vehicles. Porto-Johns and park bathrooms are available within a short walk of the start and finish. Hydration is provided at the finish line, and refreshments are supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. A themed event tee is offered.

Parking is available inside Blydenburgh County Park with primary parking near Picnic Areas 1-5, secondary parking at the Boat Launch, and additional spaces near the park entrance and Dog Park. There is also parking at the Dennison Building across the street with about a half mile walk to the start. Informal bag check is provided; organizers do not assume responsibility for personal items.
Awards include watermelons for top finishers, with top male and female overall winners and top male and female in standard age groups from 19 and under through 90 plus. A virtual participation option lets entrants log times and upload up to five photos; bib mailing is available for a fee if registered in advance.
