NSRF The Watermelon 5K Blydenburgh : July 26, 2026
The event is a community 5K held at Blydenburgh County Park Campground Playground in Hauppauge, NY. The course mixes pavement, dirt roads, and hard-packed trails that are drivable by vehicle. A free kiddie fun run accompanies the main event, and a virtual 5K option allows participants to record and submit a time during the event window.
Amenities at the site include an informal bag check area, restrooms within a few minutes' walk of the start and finish, hydration at the finish area, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Porto-johns are located near the finish line.
Parking guidance notes that a parking fee applies after 8 am and that alternate parking is available at the Dennison Building across the street, about a half mile from the race start. Bib mailing is available for an additional fee and requires registration at least ten days before the event to receive the bib by mail.
Awards include watermelons for winners and recognition for overall top male and female, plus age-group awards spanning 19 and under through 90 plus.
