The Watermelon 5K Blydenburgh NSRF
The event is a 5K road and trail race held at Blydenburgh County Park Campground Playground on Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge, NY. The course runs on a mixture of pavement, dirt roads, and hard-packed trails and a course map is provided.

On-site amenities include an informal bag check area, bathrooms within a few minutes walk, and porto-johns near the finish line. Hydration is provided at the finish, and refreshments are supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water.
Parking information is published for the park. Arrive before 8 am to avoid a $7 per car fee; an alternative lot at the Dennison Building is about a half mile from the start. Primary parking is near Picnic Areas 1-5; additional parking is available at the boat launch, dog park, and other park lots.
Awards include watermelons for winners, with Top 1 Male and Top 1 Female overall and Top 1 Male and Top 1 Female in age groups 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90+. A portion of event proceeds benefits the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
