Nissequogue River State Park Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk
The event is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Nissequogue River State Park in Kings Park, NY (Charles & Helen Reichert Administration Building, 799 St Johnland Rd). It features both an in-person 5K run/walk and a separate untimed 1K Turkey Trot for children.
Registration options include in-person and virtual 5K entries, and a 1K kids trot restricted to ages 12 and under. Virtual participants may upload times and photos from November 26 to December 6; virtual bibs are mailed the Monday before the event when applicable. The first 1,550 registered participants are guaranteed a shirt. Sample pricing shown on the registration page includes processing fees.
Amenities listed for the event note that walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers are welcome (participants using them should start at the back), an emcee and DJ will provide entertainment, pre-registered runners receive a free t-shirt, and leashed pets are permitted with the request they start at the back.
Awards include cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers, masters prizes, a cash prize for best Thanksgiving costume, and age-group awards in five-year increments. All 1K Turkey Trot participants receive a ribbon.
Bib pickup and on-site registration are available the day of the event and there is an early check-in the day before at the administration building.
