The Nissequogue River State Park Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, at Nissequogue River State Park, 799 St Johnland Rd., Kings Park, NY 11754. The event includes both a 5K run/walk and a 1K Turkey Trot for kids.
Logistics and awards
Online registration is listed as closed. Walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers are welcome and are asked to start at the back. Pets on a leash are allowed and should also start at the back. An emcee and DJ provide entertainment. Pre-registered runners receive a free T-shirt. Virtual entries are shipped within a window from one week before to one week after the event.
Bib pickup is available day of at Nissequogue River State Park and there is an early check-in and registration session the day before at the park administration building. Race results are provided live by online/email/text and include free video and same-day finish line photos.
Prizes are awarded for overall and age categories. Top three overall male and female places receive cash ($100, $75, $50). Top masters male and female receive $75. There is a cash prize for best Thanksgiving costume. Age groups are in five-year increments from 14 & under up to 80+. All participants in the 1K kids trot receive a ribbon.
