Event overview
The Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 27, 2025, at John J. Burns Park, 4990 Merrick Road, Massapequa, NY. The event is held rain or shine and offers a certified 5K course (USATF certificate ID NY13132JG) that uses the park interior loop. A separate untimed 1/2 mile fun run takes place on a trail inside the park. Strollers are permitted; dogs are not allowed per local regulations.

Registration options include the 5K run/walk and the untimed 1/2 mile fun run. Runners who register by November 8 are guaranteed a top-quality long sleeve T-shirt; shirt sizes are not guaranteed for later registrations, but shirts may be available at packet pickup. Registration fees are non-refundable. Additional donations are accepted to support the John Theissen Children's Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Packet pickup is available the evening before at John J. Burns Park, with very limited pickup on race day; participants are expected to know their bib number before pickup. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, and to the top three men and women in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
