About the race
Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K is held at John J Burns Park in Massapequa, NY. The event features a 5K Run/Walk and a 1/2 mile Fun Run. The 5K course is a USATF-certified interior loop at Burns Park, with racers asked to stay off the loop once the race begins.
The morning event runs rain or shine on Thanksgiving Day and supports the John Theissen Children's Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Perks include guaranteed long-sleeve shirts for those registered by a deadline, post-race bagels and bananas, and awards for top overall finishers and in age groups.
