Event overview
The Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 27, 2025 at John J. Burns Park, 4990 Merrick Road, Massapequa, NY. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and a 1/2 mile Fun Run within John J. Burns Park. The 5K uses the park interior loop and is a USATF certified course (certificate listed by the organizer). Strollers are permitted; dogs are not allowed under Town of Oyster Bay rules.

Bib pickup is available the evening before at John J. Burns Park (packet pickup is at the back building near the boat ramp) and there is very limited pickup on race day at the park. Participants are asked to know their bib number before pickup; a self-lookup area is available onsite if needed. Registering at least three weeks in advance enables a personalized race number. Shirts are guaranteed for those who register by 11/8; sizes are not guaranteed for later registrants. Post-race amenities include bananas and a 15% discount at Runner's Edge with a race bib.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers (gift cards: 1st $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $30) and to top three male and female finishers in standard age groups from 14 & under through 80+.
