About the race
The Oyster Bay Turkey Trot By the Bay is a Thanksgiving Day 5K run and walk in Oyster Bay, New York on November 26, 2026. The course starts at 36 Audrey Ave and finishes at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. The event is presented as an in-person community run with a single measured distance of 5K.
Registration is handled in advance and there is no day of race registration. A reduced entry fee applies for participants aged 16 and under. Registered participants who sign up at least three weeks before the event receive a personalized bib. Bib pickup is located outside the LIRR parking lot; last-minute registrants who register within 24 hours may receive their bib number by text.
Live results are provided online, by email, and by text, and same-day finish line photos and video are available. The event awards the top 1 male and top 1 female overall, plus the top 5 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 75 to 79, 80 to 84, 85 to 89, and 90 plus.
Proceeds from the event support Oak Cliff Sailing, Friends of the Bay, the Main Street Association, and the Michael Rampanelli Memorial Foundation. The event welcomes runners and walkers of varying ages. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
