The Oyster Bay Turkey Trot By the Bay is a Thanksgiving Day road race held in Oyster Bay, New York. The event includes community activities and on-course festivities. Registration details vary; there is no day-of registration.
Race details and logistics
The event features a 5K course that starts at 36 Audrey Ave and finishes at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. Early bib pickup is available at a local brewery on the two days before the race (Tuesday and Wednesday) between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM; early pickup includes one free beer. Day-of bib pickup is located outside the LIRR parking lot and bib pickup begins at 8:30 AM. Runners who register at least three weeks before the race receive a personalized bib.
Awards and results
The first 100 runners to cross the finish line (not time) and 100 runners who finish between 900 and 1000 will receive a $50 gift certificate to a local Oyster Bay restaurant. Top two overall male and female finishers receive prizes, with first overall receiving a round-trip domestic airfare voucher courtesy of JetBlue. Age-group recognition is online only; top three male and female finishers are acknowledged in multiple age divisions from 14 & under through 75+.
