Event overview
The Luck o' the Irish St. Patrick's 5K is a community run and walk held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip. The course is a USATF certified 5K. The event includes a free kiddie fun run and a virtual participation option.

On-site amenities include an informal bag-check area, hydration at the finish, and restrooms a short walk from the start and finish near the gazebo and playground. Parking is available at Field 1. A commemorative "Lucky" T-shirt is provided to participants. Post-event refreshments are supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants aged 21 and over may receive a complimentary beer with valid ID.
Bib options include in-person pickup from event staff on the day of the event and the option to have a bib mailed for a $10 fee if registration is completed at least ten days in advance. Organizers provide guidance on proper bib placement for accurate timing reads.
Results are published live online and by email and text, with free finish-line video and same-day photos. Online recognition is given to top overall finishers and to top finishers in multiple age categories. Donations from the event benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
