Luck o' the Irish St. Patrick's 5K NSRF
This event is a community 5K run/walk held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip on a USATF certified 5K course. The program also includes a free kiddie fun run and offers a virtual participation option. Participants receive a LUCKY T-shirt and post-race refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water.
Amenities include an informal bag check area where organizers do not assume responsibility for belongings, restrooms a few minutes' walk from the start and finish, and hydration provided at the finish line. Participants aged 21 and older may receive a complimentary beer in the post-race refreshment area; a valid photo ID is required.
Options for bib distribution include having a bib mailed for a $10 fee if registered at least ten days before the event, or picking up a bib in person on race day. Virtual participants have a week from the event start to log a time and submit up to five photos. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with same-day finish line photos and free video.
Age group online recognition is offered for overall top finishers and for multiple age categories. One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports athletic and charitable events and athlete development.
