Luck o' the Irish St. Patrick's 5K
The event is a community 5K run and walk held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, with an accompanying free kiddie fun run and a virtual participation option. Participants receive a commemorative "lucky" T-shirt and finish line hydration. High quality refreshments are provided by event partners and beer is available in the post race area for participants age 21 plus with valid ID.
Amenities include an informal bag check area in the staging zone and restroom facilities within a few minutes' walk from the start and finish. Parking is available at Field 1 and restrooms are located just north of the gazebo and playground. Bibs may be mailed for an additional fee if registrants meet the preevent mailing cutoff; in-person bib pickup is handled by event staff the morning of the event. Virtual entrants have a week to log results and may submit up to five photos; participant items begin shipping on the event start day.
Age group recognition and online results are provided, with top finishers acknowledged overall and in standard age brackets. Donations associated with the event benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports athletic and charitable events and athlete development.
