Luck o' the Irish St. Patrick's 5K NSRF
This event is a St. Patrick's themed run and walk held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip. The main distance is 5K and the program also includes a free kiddie fun run and a virtual participation option. The course is USATF certified and the event provides a course map and parking at Field 1 with restrooms located just north of the gazebo and playground.
Event amenities include a commemorative "LUCKY" T-shirt, postrace hydration at the finish, and refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants aged 21 and over may receive a complimentary beer in the postrace refreshment area upon showing ID. An informal bag check area will be available in the staging area; the organizer does not assume responsibility for belongings.
Bib distribution options include in-person pickup shortly before the event and a mailing option for a $10 fee if registration occurs at least ten days in advance. Virtual participants have from the first day of the event through a full week to log a time and submit up to five photos; items for virtual entries begin shipping on the first event day.
Competitive recognition is awarded online for top finishers overall and for the top finisher in each age division, listed by gender and nonbinary categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
