NSRF Luck o' the Irish St. Patrick's 5K : Heckscher State Park
The event is a community 5K run and walk held on March 22, 2026 at Heckscher State Park, Field 1, in East Islip / Great River, NY. It includes an on-site 5K, a virtual 5K option, and a free kiddie fun run. The 5K course is USATF certified and parking is available at Field 1; restrooms are located just north of the gazebo and playground.
Registration includes options for in-person and virtual participation. Virtual entries include a shirt, a medal, and name on the bib; entrants may choose a bib mailing for an additional fee if registered in time. Registration fees are non refundable. Purchase protection is offered as an optional paid service to cover qualifying unforeseen circumstances.
Post event amenities listed for participants include an informal bag check area, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants age 21 and older are eligible for a complimentary beer in the post race refreshment area with valid ID.
Age group recognition is given online for top finishers overall and in multiple age categories for female, male, and X gender classifications. Donations collected benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports athletic and charitable programs.
