About the race
The Great Pumpkin Dash Trail 5K is an organized trail run and walk held on October 11, 2026 at Blydenburgh County Park in Smithtown, NY. The event offers both an in-person trail 5K and a virtual 5K option with a one-week window for virtual results.
Participants receive a Great Pumpkin Dash Trail tee. On-course amenities include hydration at the finish, refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water, park bathrooms near the finish, and an informal bag check area in the staging zone. A free Kiddie Dash is offered on race day.
The course runs on scenic, shaded routes composed of dirt roads and hard-packed trails with a few sandy sections. Trails are not described as overly technical and strollers and wagons are not permitted. Age group recognition is given for Top 1 Overall M/F/X and for the top finisher in multiple age brackets including 14 and under up through 90 plus.
Registration options include in-person 5K and a virtual 5K; bib mailing is available for an additional fee if registered at least 10 days in advance. Parking guidance lists primary parking at Picnic Areas 1-5 via the Veteran's Highway entrance, secondary parking near the boat launch, and additional spots by the dog park.
