Event
The Northwestern Trojan Turkey Trot takes place on Saturday, November 21, 2026, in Rock Hill, SC at Northwestern High School (2503 W Main St). The event is a fundraiser for the Northwestern High School cross country team and the Trojan Club. It includes two distances:
- 5K : chip timed; held on the cross country course.
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run : for children 12 and under; shares the same start and finish as the 5K.
Course and logistics
Both races are held on Northwestern High School’s cross country course and are run primarily on grass. The course covers parts of the ATC, Northwestern, and Rawlinson Road Middle School. The 1 Mile Fun Run uses roughly the first and last half mile of the cross country course. A water station is available on the 5K course just past the halfway point. Packet pickup is at the rear of the school near the start/finish line; early pickup is available at the Charlotte Running Company in Riverwalk the day before the race.
Awards, shirts and extras
Top three male and female finishers in the 5K receive awards. Overall male and female winners will have their names added to a plaque displayed in the school athletic office. Age-group awards are given to the top three in standard age categories. All kids who finish the 1 Mile Fun Run receive a medal. 5K registrants who sign up by November 9 will receive a T-shirt; later registrants receive shirts while supplies last. A canned food drive will collect nonperishable items for the school community. Sponsors and vendors will have booths near the finish line and there will be post-race snacks and water.
