About the race
Terror Trails Ultra is scheduled for October 31, 2026 at Cane Creek Park in Waxhaw, NC. The event is in its third year and offers multiple trail distances with one flat entry price and special pricing across distances.
Distances:
- 50K : two laps of the 25K loop, multiple aid stations.
- 25K : one lap of a roughly 15.5 mile loop, repeats of two aid stations.
- 8 Miler : one lap of an 8ish mile loop, one aid station.
- 4 Miler : one introductory loop of about 4 miles, one aid station.
Course descriptions note a mix of smooth, fast trails and technical sections with rocks, roots, creek crossings and notable vertical. The 25K has an 8 hour cutoff and the 50K has a 10 hour cutoff. Runners on the 50K will pass the start/finish area between laps and will encounter multiple aid stations overall.
All registered participants receive race entry for any distance, a finisher's medal, and a cookout lunch; shirts are available a la carte. Aid stations will stock water, Gatorade and snacks; organizers recommend a hydration vest for runners expected to be on course 90 minutes or longer. Weather at this event has varied in past years from the 40s to the 80s, so participants should plan clothing accordingly.
