HeroRun 5K & 1K Fun Run
HeroRun is a community road event held at Fairview Plaza in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event includes a main 5K course that runs through South Park neighborhoods and a shorter 1K Fun Run near Fairview Road. Organizers include American Asset Corporation and Fairview Plaza, and the event features music, activities, and appearances by members of all five branches of the U.S. military.
The event supports Veterans Bridge Home, a Charlotte nonprofit that provides employment support, housing resources, healthcare connections, and community engagement for veterans and their families. Since its inception, HeroRun has raised more than $250,000 to support Veterans Bridge Home. A local fundraising effort called the "Lemon Aid Stand" has raised over $80,000 for the same cause; the event notes this effort as part of its community impact.
Registration options listed include a regular 5K, a 5K RUCK with a required weighted pack, and a 1K Fun Run. A kids 1K entry is available at no cost for children age ten and under.
