Norfolk Festival Of Running
Norfolk Festival of Running takes place at Bawsey Country Park, PE32 1EP. The event offers multiple distance options and uses a lakeside out-and-back course that loops around the water.
Distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
The course is almost entirely off-road on sandy and gravel park trails with short grass sections. One out-and-back lap measures about 5.3 km, so longer distances are made by repeating laps. The route is largely flat with roughly 26 m of climb over an out-and-back, and reported high and low points near 20 m and 10 m respectively. A GPX file is available from the course information.
Standard lap plans and cutoffs are published for each distance. A heavy half marathon is five laps by default with options to increase laps on the day, and the ultra is listed as nine laps by default with potential to extend up to 12 laps. A six hour event cutoff applies and some starts operate a four hour cutoff.
On event day the start area is visible from the main car park. Participants register to collect bibs, leave belongings in vehicles as there is no baggage facility, and pass the car park each lap. Race HQ and the aid station are at the start/lap point and the event is a mass start. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottle or cup. Parking is included in the entry price and a parking code must be collected before departure. Bespoke finisher medals are offered and virtual entry places are available via the organiser.
