Guided Trail Run Along the Norfolk Coast

The Coastal Guided Trail Run is a 19 mile point-to-point excursion from Holme-next-the-Sea to Wells-next-the-Sea. Participants follow significant sections of the Norfolk Coast Path, traversing a landscape that includes tidal marshes, pine woodlands, and small villages. The route also includes sections of beach, tracks, hard-packed trails, and small stretches of road.

This event is not a race. Participants run at a conversational pace and are organized into groups based on similar abilities. A qualified Run Leader guides each group, providing information on local history, wildlife, and points of interest along the way. While the pace is relaxed, this run is classified at an intermediate level, meaning the terrain may include obstacles and inclines.

The organizers provide a fully stocked aid station at the halfway point. Participants are expected to carry at least 500ml of water, personal snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing such as a waterproof jacket. Trail shoes are recommended due to the variety of surfaces.

Parking is available at the start in Holme-next-the-Sea via a pay and display system. As this is a linear route, participants are responsible for their own transport back to the starting point. The Coasthopper bus service is available for travel between Wells and Holme. A portion of the entry fee is donated to the Norfolk Trails Team for path maintenance.
