OMG (One Mile 2 Go) Run : Bawsey Country Park
OMG is a lap based trail event held at Bawsey Country Park, PE32 1EP, on the B1145 between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Gayton. The event offers multiple distance options:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
One out-and-back lap around the lake measures about 5.3 km (3.3 mi); this lap is almost entirely off road (around 99% trail) on sandy, gravel and grass surfaces with about 26 m of climb. The 5k is one out-and-back; longer distances are formed by repeating the same lap. A heavy half marathon is normally 5 laps with options to change to 6 or 7 on the day. The standard ultra is 9 laps with the possibility to increase laps up to 12 depending on available time.
There are two event cut off options, six hours or four hours, depending on the chosen start. Race HQ and the lap point are at the start area; an aid station is provided each lap. The event is cupless so participants need their own bottle or cup for refills. Parking is included in the event cost and the car park is adjacent to the start; the course passes the car park each lap. A GPX file for the course can be downloaded from the course tab. Bespoke or finisher medal options and virtual entry spaces are available via the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
