Leprechaun 3 Miler by Lake Area Runners

The Leprechaun 3 Miler is an annual running event held in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Formerly known as the Athlete's Corner 3 Miler, the race features a course that is flat and fast. The route begins at Big Daddy's Sports Grill, winds through a nearby neighborhood, and finishes back at the same location on W. Sale Road.

Participants are encouraged to wear St. Paddy's Day attire for the event. The race is open to runners of almost all ages, with specific age-based registration tiers available for children and seniors. Performance shirts are provided to participants who register by the mid-February deadline, though they are not included in certain age-discounted entries.

Available distances:

  • 3 miles

Awards are presented to top finishers, including gift certificates for the overall winners and the top three finishers in various age groups, ranging from 1-14 to 70 and older. This event serves as the first race in the Triple Crown Series, which also includes the Contraband 5 Miler in May and the 4 Miler on the 4th in July. Completing all three races in the series entitles participants to a special prize.

The event includes accommodations for Ainsley's Angels, who typically start one minute before the main group. Detailed course maps and parking instructions are provided, noting that parking is prohibited on Sale Road to avoid blocking local business entrances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
