Event overview
The NM Route 66 "Mother Road" Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The event marks the Route 66 Centennial and includes multiple distances held from the Albuquerque Little Theatre at 224 San Pasquale Ave. SW. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Albuquerque Little Theatre, a local 501(c)(3) community theatre organization.

Logistics and rules
Participants receive an electronic timing device attached to their bib and must wear the bib visibly on the front of clothing. BIBs and timing devices are non-transferable. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at a local running store and race-day pickup is available near the theatre. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted but must start at the back. Unauthorized wheeled devices, skateboards, and rollerblades are not allowed on the course. Medical staff and radio communications will be positioned along the course and event officials may remove a participant for safety reasons.
Awards and support
Overall and age-group awards are given by gun time for the Half Marathon, 6.6 mile, and 6.6K events. Fluid replacement stations will provide water and Powerade on the course. Volunteers and sponsors support race operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
