Cedro Peak Trail Events
Cedro Peak features trail races held in the Cibola National Forest near Tijeras, New Mexico. The event offers two distances and runs on single-track and jeep dirt trails through ponderosa pine and piñon forests, scrub oak, and meadow areas. Runners pass viewpoints with sights of the Sandia and Manzano Mountains.
Both routes include a mix of climbs, descents, and runnable flatter sections. Terrain varies from flowy single track to technical rocky sections. The US Forest Service approves the courses and may require route modifications for forest management projects or closures.
Participation is limited to 300 entrants with a waitlist. Entry includes a race t-shirt, a finisher award for those who complete their race, professional photography, race timing, post race refreshments, and access to well stocked aid stations. Event operations are supported by volunteers for aid stations, parking, course marking, and event setup and breakdown. Search and Rescue and radio operators are listed as part of safety and course support.
Maps, elevation profiles, and additional course information are provided on the event website and social media pages listed by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
