Windmill Remembrance Day 10k
The Windmill Remembrance Day 10k is held on Remembrance Sunday in Lytham St Annes with the event centre on Lytham Green near Lytham Windmill. The event combines a running event with a formal remembrance observance before the race.
The course starts in the shadow of Lytham Windmill and follows a fast, flat coastal route along Lytham Green toward Granny’s Bay and Fairhaven, then returns toward Lytham. Runners pass long flowing sections with views across the Ribble Estuary. A staffed water station is provided around halfway and water is also supplied at the finish.
Event HQ on Lytham Green is the location for bib collection, baggage and key drop, event enquiries and race-day assistance. Race numbers are arranged in surname order at collection. Portable toilets will be available at Event HQ and a baggage storage area will be provided; all belongings are left at the owner’s risk. A key drop facility is available; keys are collected after the race on presentation of the race number.
The event is chip timed, with the timing chip attached to the race number and results published online after the race. Professional medical support is available during the event. Headphones are permitted but must be used safely and at a volume that allows runners to hear instructions.
Every finisher receives a medal. Individual awards are given for the first three men and first three ladies, and in multiple veteran age categories. Prize vouchers are issued to winners after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
