Loughshannagh
Loughshannagh is a mountain race in the Hills and Dales series held on 11 June 2026. The course starts at Ott Car Park (lay-by) and follows an anti-clockwise, unmarked route. Distance is 8 km with a total climb of 800 m. Grid reference for the start is 277 268.
The event is organised by Newcastle AC. Presentation takes place at Mary Margaret’s, Hilltown Road. Participants must be at least 15 years old before 1 January 2026. Entries open on 20 March 2026 and close on 10 June 2026. Entry fees are £12 for affiliated runners and £14 for unaffiliated runners. The event had 25 participants registered at the time of listing.
Race rules include attaching numbers to the chest rather than to shorts, and bringing full body cover for a kit check. If conditions are poor, runners who fail the kit check at the finish may be disqualified. Persistent failure to follow number-placement rules may also result in disqualification.
