This event is a 5k road race and family walk. It is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026.
The Route
The race starts near the Long Woman’s Grave on the Cooley Peninsula. The course is described as a downhill road race with a fast and flat finish into Omeath village. It offers views of Omeath Village, Carlingford Lough, and the Mourne Mountains.
Event Details
All finishers receive a unique medal. Trophies are awarded to the first, second, and third male and female finishers. Age category prizes are also available for first male and female in O40, O50, and O60 categories.
Logistics
Race pack collection is from 5:00 pm on race day outside The Grand Central Hotel in Omeath. Buses transport participants to the start line, departing promptly at 6:45 pm from outside Howes Bar. Ample parking is available for participants and spectators. A water station is at the finish line, and participants are encouraged to be self-sufficient to reduce waste.
