The Glenmore Challenge Running Festival 2026
The Glenmore Challenge Running Festival is a multi-distance road running event held around the Glenmore Valley on the Cooley Peninsula, with longer routes offering views over Omeath, Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. A permit has been approved, certificate number 25/499.

All routes include hydration stations placed along the course; participants are encouraged to practice self-sufficiency to reduce waste. Race pack collection and parking are organised at Mullaghbouy Community Centre, and buses are provided for the 5K from the church beside Mullaghbouy Community Centre. Walkers are welcomed in the 5K.
Awards and services include a unique finisher medal for all finishers, cash prizes and trophies for the first three male and female finishers in each race, age category prizes for O40, O50 and O60 in the 10 Mile, and team prizes for male and female teams of four in the 10 Mile. Event t-shirts are available for purchase and finishers can expect food and drink at the finish line.
Participation requirements note a minimum age of 13 years for entry, a recommendation to consider a health check before longer distances, and a marathon cut off of 6.5 hours after which chipped timing will not be available.
