New Bedford Half Marathon
The New Bedford Half Marathon takes place in New Bedford, MA on March 21, 2027 and is presented by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick for its 50th anniversary. The event offers an in-person half marathon and a virtual option with combined participant limits for event items.
The course is a USATF certified, fast single-loop of 13.1-mile length that begins and ends on Pleasant Street in front of City Hall in downtown New Bedford. The route passes through the city’s North and South Ends and features views of the waterfront, Clarks Cove, and the harbor.
Event logistics include early bib and apparel pick-up at the New Bedford YMCA (25 South Water Street) on the day before the race and race day registration and bib pick-up at the same location. Two city-owned parking garages are listed as complimentary on race day: Elm Street Garage (51 Elm Street) and Zeiterion Theater Parking Garage (684 Purchase Street). Gear check is available in the registration area.
Aid stations are provided with water, Gatorade, and portable toilets at miles 1.5, 3.2, 5.0, 8.3, 10.5, and 12.4. The race has a three hour time limit; runners not meeting published intermediate cutoffs may be diverted or transported for safety and to allow streets to reopen. All half marathon finishers receive finisher medals at the finish line.
