NCYMCA's Pie Run
The Newport County YMCA hosts the annual Pie Run on Thanksgiving Day at the Newport County YMCA in Middletown, Rhode Island. The live road race includes a USATF sanctioned 5 mile course that starts and ends in front of the YMCA. The event also offers virtual participation with the same distance options.
Distances offered:
- 5 Miles USATF sanctioned road race, chip timed
- 3 Miles non-timed run or walk
The event collects non-perishable food and gently used coat donations for the MLK Community Center and other area organizations. Donations are accepted at bib pickup locations. Proceeds support the Y's Community Support Campaign and a local coat drive is organized by the Island Interact Leadership Club with the local Rotary Club and the NCYMCA.
No on-site registration is available on race day; registration must be completed in advance or via device prior to the race. A Special Edition Pie Run T-shirt is available with early registration; registering by November 1 guarantees an effort to provide the requested size, though size availability is not guaranteed. The event is dog and stroller friendly. Parking and restrooms are available. Bib pickup is scheduled the days before the event at the YMCA.
