Fairhaven Turkey Trot
The Fairhaven Turkey Trot is a community 5K run or walk held on Thanksgiving morning in Fairhaven Center, Massachusetts. The event begins and finishes at Cushman Park and follows an out and back route that goes down Green Street to Fort Phoenix, up Fort Street past the marina and a water stop, then along Main Street, Bridge Street, and Mulberry Street before returning to the Cushman Park track.
The event benefits Shepherd's Pantry and other local food stability programs. Since 2010 the Turkey Trot has raised more than $130,000 and collected hundreds of pounds of canned goods; in the most recent year participants and families donated over 2,000 pounds of nonperishable items. Participants may bring nonperishable food items to bib pickup for a stuff a truck donation collection.
Fairhaven Police staff major intersections while volunteers marshal minor crossings to support safety on the course. Registration fees change by date and are listed on the event site; on-site registration and bib pickup accept cash, card, or check depending on the pickup day. Sponsors help underwrite shirts, bibs, and police details so funds raised go to community partners. The route is subject to change. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
