Event overview
The 2026 National Superhero event is a chip-timed running event held at Lake Fairfax in Reston, VA on April 26, 2026. Distances offered are:

- 10k
Walkers are welcome. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Registered participants receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before April 15; additional shirts will be available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course and logistics
The course runs through Lake Fairfax and is described as hilly with some technical trail sections. The 10k consists of two laps of the 5k course. Water stations are placed along the routes: five stations on the 10k at approximate mile markers 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2, and two stations on the 5k at about mile markers 1 and 2.1; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located around the park. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to check in before their race.
Parking is available at Lake Fairfax Park (1400 Lake Fairfax Dr, Reston, VA) with a latitude/longitude pin provided by the organizer for navigation.
Results, awards, and other services
Live results will be posted online and final results with series points will be published after the race. Top three men and women overall are awarded, and age-group awards are given for 19 & under and each decade from 20-29 through 70+. Photos taken by staff will be posted after the event.
