Event
The BVFRD Fire Drill 5K/1M takes place on April 25, 2026, at Burke Lake Park, Pavilion A, 7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039. The fifth annual edition is organized by the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Registration and logistics
Online registration is the only registration method and will remain open until the race begins on April 25. Packet pickup is available at the PR Burke Store, 5715 Burke Centre Parkway, Burke, VA 22015, on Friday, April 24 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on race day at Burke Lake Park starting at 7:00 am. Registration fees are listed by date: 5K fees are $30 (through January 13), $40 (January 14 through April 24), and $45 on race day; 1 Mile fees are $20 (through January 13), $30 (January 14 through April 24), and $35 on race day. All participants will receive a commemorative race shirt and finisher medal; registering by Thursday, April 9 guarantees a shirt and medal, otherwise items are first come, first served.
Awards and purpose
Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 & over. Funds raised will support the station’s equipment and training. The event is timed by Commonwealth Race Management/PR Races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
