Napa Wilderness Trail Runs - Skyline Wilderness Park
The Napa Wilderness Trail Runs take place at Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa, California on May 15, 2027. Organized by Bay Trailrunners, the event offers multiple trail race distances on reworked courses that include new sections through Napa Open Space.
The event distances include:
- 50K 32.4 miles / 52K, about 6,700 ft elevation gain
- 30K 18.2 miles, about 4,000 ft elevation gain
- 21K 13.9 miles, about 2,600 ft elevation gain
- 10K 6.1 miles, about 1,300 ft elevation gain
The 30K and 50K routes climb the Rim Rock Trail with steep ascents and wide views across Napa Valley. Course maps and Strava routes are provided; maps were final as of May 5, 2026 but may change for permitting or park reasons.
Cutoffs and on-course rules are firm: 10K 4 hours, 21K 6 hours, 30K 8 hours, 50K 10 hours, and runners must complete the 30K portion within 6 hours to continue on the final 50K loop. Aid stations are typically spaced every 5 to 9 miles, stocked with hydration and packaged food, and will serve Skratch, Cure Hydration, and GU products with plant-based options available. Note a roughly 7 mile section has only a water stop; runners must carry sufficient fluids.
Logistics and race etiquette: the $6 parking fee is included with race registration and participants must enter via the South Gate overflow lot. The race is cupless so runners must bring a cup, bottle, or hydration system. There are porta-potties at the start/finish but no restrooms on course. Bibs must be worn visibly on the front and a mandatory race briefing occurs 10 minutes before each start. Results will be posted online after the event.
