Solano Turkey Trot
The Solano Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving Day running event described as the 18th edition. It takes place at Solano Community College in Fairfield, California, and benefits Meals on Wheels and the Suisun Kroc Center.
The event program includes multiple race options:
- 10K
- 5K
- Kids' Fun Run
Registered participants receive event items including a t-shirt, medal, race bib, free sample giveaways, and post-race refreshments. Awards and prize money are offered for top overall finishers in the 5K and 10K, with a stated purse for the top three overall male and female finishers: 1st place $300, 2nd place $200, 3rd place $100. Age group top three finishers receive custom medals. A Masters division (40+ years) for men and women in the 5K and 10K also has prize money: 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50.
Additional event features include a community team challenge with team registration options, a costume contest with multiple categories judged on the event stage, and a raffle. Raffle tickets are priced at $5 each or 5 for $20, with over 20 prize opportunities and a listed grand prize of a 75 inch smart TV; raffle proceeds support the event beneficiaries.
