Nanaimo Open Water Swim and SwimRun Challenge
The event is presented by Canaqua Sports on August 9, 2026, at Westwood Lake Park in Nanaimo, British Columbia. It is the second annual Nanaimo Open Water Swim and Mudskipper SwimRun event and includes separate open water swim races and individual SwimRun races.

- 5.0K open water swim
- 9.5–10.0K one-lap Mudskipper SwimRun
- 19.0–20.0K two-lap Mudskipper SwimRun
Race information
Open water swim laps are 1.0 K each; the 5.0K event equals five laps of the course. The Mudskipper SwimRun course is described in stages; the longer SwimRun consists of two complete laps of those stages.
Race logistics and safety notes: swim caps will be provided and must be worn for identification; each participant will have a number inked on the upper back or shoulder. Water temperature at this time of year is given as 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. There is no rain date; delays or cancellation would occur only in the event of lightning. Wetsuits are optional. SwimRun equipment guidance notes that flotation aids are permitted up to 100 cm x 60 cm, shoes should drain and provide good traction, and goggles and paddles are commonly used.
