The Nanaimo Open Water Swim and Mudskipper SwimRun Challenge takes place on August 9, 2026 at Westwood Lake Park, 381 Westwood Road, Nanaimo, BC, Canada. The event is presented by Canaqua Sports and is described as the second annual edition on Vancouver Island.
Race format and practical information
The Nanaimo Open Water Swim is held on a 1.0 km loop in Westwood Lake. Distances offered:

- 3K
- 5K
The Mudskipper SwimRun is organised as one-lap and two-lap options around Westwood Lake, approximately 10 km and 20 km in total. The longer SwimRun requires completing the course stages twice.
Participants will receive swim caps that must be worn for identification. A race number will be inked on the upper back or shoulder of each participant. Water temperature at this time of year is noted as about 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. Wetsuits are optional. Facilities include washrooms and food on site.
