2026 Westwood Lake Triathlon
The 9th annual Westwood Lake Triathlon takes place at Westwood Lake Park in Nanaimo, British Columbia. This multisport event offers various competition formats:
- Sprint Individual (ages 16+)
- Standard Individual (ages 18+)
- Standard Aquabike (swim and bike phases)
- Sprint Relay (ages 15+)
The swim portion is held in Westwood Lake, with the transition area located in the adjacent parking lot. The bike course travels west of Highway 19 through the East Wellington area. Both race distances share the opening 10 km of the cycling route, with Standard distance athletes continuing past Brannen Lake before returning to the park.
The run segment consists of one lap for Sprint participants and two laps for Standard participants around the hard-packed trail circling Westwood Lake. The finish line and post-race area are located at the main beach. Participants have access to stocked aid stations on the run course, professional traffic control during the bike leg, and on-site medical staff.
