Westwood Lake Triathlon
The Westwood Lake Triathlon takes place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Westwood Lake Park in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island.
Two distances are offered: a Sprint course and a Standard course. Participants can also compete in mixed team relays and aquabike events. The races are held within Westwood Lake Park, a popular local park located 4 km from downtown Nanaimo.
The distances for each discipline are:
- Swim: 750 m for the Sprint and 1500 m (two loops) for the Standard.
- Bike: Both courses share the same initial 10 km section before heading out on distinct loop courses on rural roads west of Highway 19.
- Run: The run takes place on the park's trails, with each loop measuring 5.2 km (one loop for the Sprint, two for the Standard).
The transition area is located in the main beach parking lot, just meters from the water's edge. Cut-off times are enforced for each segment. Race package pickup is available the day before and on race morning. Awards are given to the top three in each age group and the top three overall non-gendered finishers.
