MRT 2026 5k
The MRT 2026 5k is a running race held at the Statesville Soccer Complex in North Carolina. This event features a 5k distance with dedicated categories for youth and adult participants. The race is a night event, and participants are not permitted to bring dogs to the venue.
This specific event serves as one installment of the 2026 Championship Series. The series consists of 15 scheduled races throughout the year. Runners can accumulate points based on their finishing positions to compete for the overall championship standings. Awards are presented each night for overall winners, masters, and five-year age group categories.
To qualify for the Series Championship, participants must complete at least 10 of the 15 scheduled races. Points are awarded as follows:
- Overall winners receive 12, 10, or 9 points.
- Masters winners receive 8, 7, or 6 points.
- Age group winners receive 5, 4, or 3 points.
- All other participants earn 2 points per race.
Runners who complete more than 10 races earn one additional point for each extra race. Those who participate in all 15 races receive five bonus points and a complimentary entry for the 2027 season.
