DART Abersham Free 5k
The DART Abersham Free 5K is a recurring, no-cost community run hosted by the Davidson Area Running Team. It takes place the second Saturday of each month in Davidson, North Carolina, at Abersham Park.
The course is an out-and-back on the paved Abersham Greenway. The greenway is not closed during the event, so participants should be aware of other runners, walkers, and cyclists and keep to the right when passing or being passed.
Parking is available in a lower Abersham lot with 27 spaces. Two overflow parking locations are noted: an upper lot near Shearer Road and the lot at the end of Fisher Road in Fisher Farm Park. Both overflow lots are about one mile from the start. Street parking is allowed on the one-way road next to the lower lot only if through traffic is not blocked. Parking on the shoulder is not recommended.
Participants check in with volunteers before the event. To reduce costs, each participant is assigned a number that they keep and use at subsequent events. For mapping, Apple Maps and Google Maps support the event address while Waze has reportedly not worked for directions to this location.
