DART Abersham Free 5k - Davidson, NC
DART (The Davidson Area Running Team) hosts a free 5k on the second Saturday of every month at Abersham Park. The event uses the paved Abersham Greenway for a straightforward out-and-back course that measures approximately 5 kilometers.
The greenway is open to the public during the event, so runners should expect other users such as walkers and cyclists. Participants are asked to stay to the right when possible and remain aware of passing runners on the out or return leg.
The event meeting point is the lower parking lot at Abersham Park, 18520 Abersham Dr, Davidson, NC 28036. The lower lot has 27 parking spaces. Two overflow parking areas are available: an upper lot near Shearer Road and the lot at the end of Fisher Road in Fisher Farm Park. Each overflow lot is about a mile from the start, which can serve as a warm-up run. Street parking is permitted on the one-way road beside the lower lot if it does not block traffic; parking on the shoulder is discouraged.
Participants should check in with volunteers before the event. To reduce costs, each participant is assigned a number that they keep and use at future events. Note that Waze may not give correct directions to the address, while Apple Maps and Google Maps do. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
