Mountain To Fountain
Mountain To Fountain is a road race in Fountain Hills, Arizona, offering two distances: a 15K and a 5K. The 15K is a point-to-point route that begins at McDowell Mountain Regional Park, passes through the Sonoran desert and the Town of Fountain Hills, and finishes at Fountain Park. The course is USATF certified. Key statistics for the 15K include a distance of 9.4 miles, total elevation gain of 297 feet, and a maximum elevation of 1,964 feet. Aid stations with water and portable restrooms are located at miles 2.25, 4.15, 6.0, and 7.8, with additional water at the finish line.
The 5K is run as two laps around Fountain Park and covers 3.1 miles with 242 feet of total elevation gain and a maximum elevation of 1,623 feet. Both events provide post-race amenities such as a 50/50 blend t-shirt, finisher medal, access to the finish line expo, post-race food and social, and one beer for participants 21 and older. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to the top three in standard age-group bands: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. A team competition for the 15K scores the top four finishers per team and includes a prize of one member's weight in beer. Live splits are available on race day.
