Mountain To Fountain Road Races
Mountain To Fountain is a road running event held in Fountain Hills, Arizona. The event features two primary distances:
- 15 km
- 5 km
The 15 km race follows a point-to-point route. Participants begin at McDowell Mountain Regional Park and traverse through the Sonoran desert and the Town of Fountain Hills. The course concludes at Fountain Park. This distance has a total elevation gain of 297 feet and a professional USATF certification. Water stations are located approximately at miles 2.25, 4.15, 6, and 7.8, with additional water available at the finish line. Runners must complete the course within a 2.5-hour time limit.
The 5 km race consists of two laps around the lake at Fountain Park. The route uses Saguaro Blvd, El Lago Blvd, and Panorama Dr. Water and restrooms are available at the finish line and accessible during the transition between the first and second laps.
A team competition is available for the 15 km distance. Teams must consist of at least four members. Categories include Open, Master (ages 40 and up), and Mixed. One member of a winning team may be selected to win their weight in beer.
Participants receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and access to a post-race social featuring food and one beer for those aged 21 and over. Shuttles are provided to transport 15 km runners from Fountain Park to the starting line at the regional park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
