Paws to the Rescue 5K
Paws to the Rescue 5K is a community fundraising event organized by students as part of a school business project. The event supports local animal rescues and directs all proceeds to Hand2Paw. Hand2Paw provides paid internships working with rescue animals to strengthen connection, compassion, and community for young adults from underrepresented communities and those impacted by trauma, inequity, housing insecurity, or foster care involvement.
The event is held at Victory Fields, 201 E Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA, and runs rain or shine. The 5K course includes pavement and grass sections; the one mile and kids events use pavement only. Race timing is provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Co.

Awards for the 5K include the top three overall finishers per gender and the top finisher in each age group per gender: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus.
Amenities include t shirts with 5K registration (limited sizes), a finisher medal for every participant, water and snacks, a dog adoption center hosted by Waiting On A Friend Animal Rescue, a photographer offering free photos, and booths such as the PWHS School Store and DECA. Dogs are encouraged except in the 5K race and the 1/4 mile kids dash.
