About the race
The Mooresville/Lake Norman Turkey Trot is the 16th annual community running event held on November 26, 2026, at The Christian Mission, 919 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115. Event proceeds support The Christian Mission's programs providing food, clothing, housing assistance, case management, and educational programs to more than 6,000 local individuals and families each year.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 miles Mooresville/Lake Norman Turkey Trot 5K
- 880 yards Kids FUN RUN for children ages 10 and under
Packet pickup is scheduled at The Christian Mission (919 N. Main St.) on the days before the event:
- Monday, November 23: 10:00 am–2:00 pm and 5:00 pm–7:00 pm
- Tuesday, November 24: 10:00 am–2:00 pm
- Wednesday, November 25: 9:00 am–12:00 pm
The Kids Fun Run is not chip-timed; no packets or shirts are distributed for that event. There is no need for Fun Run participants to check in at the registration table on race day or attend early packet pickup. Participation prizes for the Fun Run will be available while supplies last.
Event features include three start waves organized by anticipated pace, awards for top finishers, and a commemorative race T-shirt guaranteed for participants registered by November 12. Registration fees are listed as $35.00 for the 5K and $15.00 for the Kids Fun Run. Parking is available at several nearby lots and businesses in downtown Mooresville.
