St James Elementary School Royal Run 5k - Denver, NC
The St James Elementary School Royal Run 5k is scheduled for Saturday February 21, 2026. The event was postponed and rescheduled to that date due to forecasted snow and icy conditions. All registrations and sponsorships will transfer to the new date.
The event program includes multiple distances and activities:
- 5k (Timed)
- 5k (NON-Timed) Run/Walk
- One Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Kids Dash (5 and under)
The start and finish are planned at the Verdict Ridge Pool parking lot, 1633 Withers Drive, Denver, NC 28037. Packet pick up is available the day before and on the morning of the event. Organizers list course maps for the 5k and the 1 mile.
Race entry includes pre-race activities, a t-shirt, age group certificates, finisher medals for children and a finish line festival. Adult and youth shirt sizes are offered; t-shirts are only guaranteed for entries registered by January 11, 2026.
Awards are given to the overall male and female winners and to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. The event is organized by the St. James Elementary PTO to raise funds for school programming and supplies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
