Monster Triathlon, Keller, Texas
The Monster Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held in Keller, Texas, using the Keller Natatorium indoor pool and local Keller trail running routes. The pool has 50 meter lanes that are 9 ft wide. The bike course is offered as a two-loop or three-loop route around the local roads.
Distances for the two race formats include:
- NEW Super Sprint: Swim 300 meters, Bike 10 miles, Run 5K
- Sprint: Swim 300 meters, Bike 14.5 miles, Run 5K
The event includes multiple divisions, including age group divisions and weight-based categories such as Athena for females 165 pounds and above, and Clydesdale for males 220 pounds and above. Finish areas vary by event; some feature live bands, and costumes are encouraged.
The event marks its 21st year and the organizer anticipates a large field of participants. In the event of inclement weather, the start may be delayed by up to one hour. Beyond that time, the course may be shortened or altered, and the event may be cancelled if conditions are unsafe. Event changes and cancellations are made at the discretion of the race director.
