2026 Mogadishu Mile 10K/5K/Fun Run (Ranger Memorial Triad)
The Mogadishu Mile is a running event held at Ascarate Park in El Paso, Texas. The race commemorates the actions of U.S. Army Rangers during the 1993 battle in Mogadishu, Somalia. Participants follow out-and-back courses on a paved trail.
The event offers several distances for participants:
- 10 km
- 10 km (Kit Run)
- 5 km
- 5 km (Kit Run)
- 1 mile (Children's Fun Run)
The Children's Fun Run is structured to begin after the conclusion of the longer distance races. This allows parents to complete their own runs before assisting their children. Parents may run with their children in the fun run without a separate registration, though registration is required if they wish to receive a shirt and medal.
This event is the final installment of the Ranger Memorial Triad series. Individuals who complete all three races in the series within a single year receive a specific triad T-shirt and medal. For those unable to attend in person, virtual registration options are available for all distances. Results for virtual participants can be submitted to receive a finisher's medal and shirt by mail.
All participants in the 5 km and 10 km races receive a T-shirt and a finisher's medal. Packet pick-up is available the evening before the event at a location on Douglas Avenue and on the morning of the races at Ascarate Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
